Dr. Ajith Mohan K. R is an accomplished sports administrator and educator, currently serving as the Deputy & Head of the Department of Physical Education at Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) for the term 2022–2025. With over two decades of dedicated service to the development of sports in Kerala and India, he has held key roles including Sports Officer with the Scheduled Caste Development Department, Government of Kerala (2002–2010), and Member of the Governing Body of the Kerala State Sports Council. His contributions span various national-level committees such as the Kerala School Health & Physical Education Curriculum Committee, Executive Committee of Kerala National Games, and the Sports Board of the Association of Indian Universities across multiple terms.
Dr. Ajith has played significant leadership roles in premier national events, serving on the Organizing Committee of all four editions of the Khelo India University Games, and acting as Chef De Mission for the Kerala Team at the Khelo India Youth Games for three consecutive years. He has represented India on the global stage as Contingent Manager at the FISU World University Games in Chengdu (2023) and upcoming Rhine & Ruhr (2025). His insights have also guided academic bodies as a Board of Studies Member at MG University and Sree Sankaracharya University, and as a NAAC Accreditation Committee Member for Sports Infrastructure. Recognized for his service, he received the Meritorious Service Award from the Government of Kerala for three consecutive years (2005–08). Dr. Ajith continues to be a vital force in shaping India's university sports landscape through policy, coordination, and talent development.
