Olympian P. Rangaswamy is one of India’s most accomplished weightlifters, representing the nation at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games. He is a triple Gold Medallist at the 1990 Commonwealth Games and a Commonwealth Championship Gold Medallist in 1992. His international achievements include Gold at the 1988 Silver Dragon Meet in London, the 1991 South East Asian Games in Colombo, and the 1991 SAF Games. A former holder of 27 national records and a national medalist for seven consecutive years, he also served as Chief Coach for Indian Railways, Western Railway, and the 2008 Youth Commonwealth Games, and was Maharashtra State Champion for 15 years.
