Mr. Suresh Kumar T J, A highly respected figure in the Indian chess circuit, is the former coach of the Indian Youth Chess Team and currently serves as the coach for the Indian Railways Chess Team. A seasoned professional, he holds prestigious international titles from the World Chess Federation (FIDE)—FIDE Trainer and FIDE Arbiter, the latter of which he earned in 2015. His experience as a player includes representing India at the World Junior Chess Championship and finishing as national junior runner-up, marking him as both a formidable competitor and a strategic thinker. Over the years, he has gained a reputation as a passionate and dedicated chess coach, particularly recognized for mentoring junior players across the country, he is also mentor and trainer for many titled players in India and abroad. His role in fostering young talent has been crucial to the progress of Indian chess on the global stage. He is closely associated with the Integral Coach Factory (ICF), where he contributes to sports quota recruitment and mentoring for chess. Additionally, he has played an instrumental role in preparing Indian junior teams for international tournaments, offering valuable training and guidance that have helped shape the next generation of chess champions.
